The over-sized bow around the crown at the 12 o'clock position is a distinct BOVET characteristic, reminiscent of the pocket watches from the 19th century. The proportions of the bow has been increased, from its original purpose as a chain attachment, to accommodate the width of a full sized strap & doubles as a crown protector.
The AMADEO Concept:
An ingenious system in which the watch case has been designed so that it can easily convert to be used either as a wristwatch on a leather strap, as a pocket-watch on a chain or as a desk-clock by use of a hinged stand on the case back. The transformation is accomplished by 2 buttons cleverly integrated in the sides of the bow & a 3rd button on the case back. The transformation process is simple & does not require any tools.
